SODECA highlights benefits of Magnelis-coated steel for ventilation systems

Company says resistance to corrosion and wear is a key factor in ensuring durability, reliability and long-term performance

RIPOLL, Girona, Spain, 4 June 2026: SODECA said resistance to corrosion and wear is a key factor in ensuring the durability, reliability and long-term performance of ventilation systems, particularly in installations exposed to demanding environmental conditions.

Making the announcement through a June 4 Press Release, SODECA said it has incorporated Magnelis-coated steel into its ventilation solutions with the aim of providing equipment designed to operate reliably in aggressive environments. According to the company, the coating technology offers corrosion resistance up to three times higher than conventional galvanised steel, delivering outstanding long-term protection even under the most demanding environmental conditions.

SODECA said its ventilation units are engineered to deliver reliable operation and a long service life, even in applications exposed to demanding environmental conditions. SODECA said that to achieve this, the feature casings manufactured from Magnelis-coated steel is a solution that significantly enhances resistance to corrosion and deterioration, including on surfaces, edges and cut sections.

SODECA said this enhanced level of protection helps maintain the unit’s performance over time, even in environments exposed to high humidity, airborne contaminants or corrosive atmospheres. SODECA added that in addition, the coating’s self-repairing properties at cut edges help prevent rust formation, reducing maintenance requirements throughout the service life of the installation.

SODECA said ventilation units manufactured from Magnelis-coated steel are designed for applications in highly corrosive environments, in accordance with the requirements established for the C5 corrosivity category defined in ISO 12944. The company said this internationally recognised standard classifies environments according to their level of corrosivity and serves as a key benchmark for assessing long-term material performance and durability under demanding exposure conditions.

SODECA said the use of Magnelis-coated steel also eliminates the need for additional painting processes on the unit casing, simplifying maintenance and contributing to lower lifecycle maintenance costs.
