Siemens Energy to host “Qatar Energy Days” virtual conference

The event will bring together thought leaders in the energy industry with decision makers to talk about Qatar’s energy transition to a greener future, says Herbert Klausner, MD, Siemens Energy in Qatar

DOHA, Qatar, 02 February 2021: Siemens Energy in Qatar said it will be hosting its first virtual conference, entitled “Qatar Energy Days”, from February 15 to 17.  The three-day conference will be free to attend and will include participants from governments as well as from the energy and  industrial sectors, to bring together a wide variety of viewpoints and perspectives from thought leaders, to help shape the energy of tomorrow, Siemens said.

According to the company, Qatar Energy Days will highlight evolving trends in the local energy industry, innovation in the regional and global ecosystems as well as industry best practices to help the Gulf country meet its energy goals under Qatar Vision 2030. Qatar’s government is making it a priority to find harmony between economic growth and protecting the environment in order to mitigate the effects of pollution and global warming, Siemens said.

“This event will bring together thought leaders in the energy industry with decision makers to talk about Qatar’s energy transition and how we can move towards a greener life for our future generations,” said Herbert Klausner, Managing Director of Siemens Energy in Qatar. “I hope that these discussions will bring us closer to being more sustainable and to achieving Qatar’s Vision 2030 goals.”

The conference, which demonstrates Siemens Energy’s commitment to Qatar’s long-term goals, will provide a virtual platform for interactive conversation, knowledge transfer and best practice sharing between Siemens Energy’s leaders and local experts in generation, transmission, and industrial applications, the company said.

Discussions during the conference, the company said, will address questions such as: How can Qatar accelerate the energy transition and meet the growing demand for electricity while protecting the environment? What will future power grids will look like, amid the rise of renewables and distributed energy resources? How can the oil & gas sector decarbonise operations and harness the power of digitalisation?
