Samsung’s Hylex™ heat pump recognised as Sustainable Product of the Year by Green Builder Media
ROANOKE, Texas, USA, 14 April 2025: Samsung announced through a Press Release that its Hylex™ heat pump system was named Green Builder Media’s Sustainable Product of the Year for HVAC.
According to the company, this recognition highlights the Hylex™ system’s performance in energy efficiency, reduced environmental impact and resource conservation within the residential HVAC market.
Samsung stated that the Hylex™ system offers universal compatibility, allowing it to integrate with existing HVAC components and minimise waste by reusing infrastructure. The company added that its compact design reduces material use, streamlines installation and further lessens environmental impact. Samsung said this design approach not only decreases the product’s carbon footprint but also helps save time and resources during installation.
The company further said that the new Hylex™ system uses R-454B refrigerant, described as a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) alternative. Samsung said this aligns with its commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting broader efforts to combat climate change through the use of environmentally responsible refrigerants.
“Samsung is committed to creating innovative solutions that support a more sustainable future, and the Hylex™ exemplifies this vision,” said Victor Gomez, CEO, Samsung HVAC America. “We’re honored that Green Builder Media has recognized the Hylex™ for its contributions to energy efficiency and environmental stewardship. This award is a testament to our ongoing efforts to provide consumers with environmentally friendly, efficient technologies that reduce their carbon footprints”, added Gomez.
Samsung said the Hylex™ heat pump is part of its broader environmental strategy, which includes ongoing efforts to develop products that not only meet consumer needs but also contribute to global sustainability. The company stated that by combining energy-efficient operation, compatibility with existing systems and the use of eco-friendly refrigerants, the Hylex™ heat pump represents a step toward a more sustainable future in residential heating and cooling.
