Showcases energy efficiency projects
The Regulation and Supervision Bureau (the Bureau) and its Powerwise Office, an initiative of the Bureau, are showcasing some of the energy efficiency projects it is carrying out in the Emirate at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) from November 10 to 13.
Announcing this in a news release, the Bureau, the independent regulatory body for the water, wastewater and electricity sector of Abu Dhabi, said that its energy efficiency projects, showcased on an interactive stand (location: A10), will highlight ways to a smarter use of electricity, which include the time-of-day trial, demand side management pilot project and the successful “Turn it off” summer campaign.
Reportedly the largest gas and oil event in the region, it is claimed to highlight the need for resource diversification and demand for new resources, such as energy. The event will also create a platform for the Bureau to network with sector stakeholders worldwide with a view to future partnerships, the announcement revealed.
Commenting on the participation, Rashed Hamad Al Rashdi, Deputy Director General of the Bureau, said: “Electricity conservation is integral to the Emirate’s long-term energy strategy. We currently have a number of ‘live’ initiatives that are producing real, tangible, local data. Such projects help design viable solutions and shape the Emirate’s future energy roadmap.”
Ramiz Alaileh, the Bureau’s Powerwise Manager, added: “Carrying out these projects forms an essential step in studying ways to really make a difference and initial results are very promising. We look forward to analysing the final data. But at this point it is clear that the little decisions we make every day, whether at home or at work collectively can have a significant impact on the Emirate’s overall management of resources, and its future growth and prosperity. Events like ADIPEC help us convey the right message to the residents of Abu Dhabi about their use of electricity, as we all have a role to play in preserving our precious resources for generations to come.”
