Qatar to host District Energy Awards

A key feature of the Euroheat & Power conference in October in Doha, the awards exercise seeks to honour contributions by leading international heating and cooling experts

Qatar is set to host the 5th Global District Energy Climate Awards in October in Doha. Launched by Euroheat & Power, the awards exercise will be part of a two-day conference. It will honour the contributions of leading international heating and cooling experts, said Marafeq, which is hosting the conference.

Speaking on what it means for Marafeq to host the global event, Abubakr Jenaid Al Hadrami, Director Operations and Maintenance, Marafeq, said: “For sure, hosting the global conference will help the industry in Qatar, because of the level of experts coming to the country and the coverage the media is expected to provide. We hope the event will help raise awareness about District Cooling and will encourage the utilising of global expertise in Qatar.”

In addition to Euroheat & Power, the conference enjoys the support of the International District Energy Association (IDEA), United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and the International Energy Agency (IEA).
