Mexico’s retaliatory tariffs include HVACR equipment

Arlington, Virginia, USA, 10 June 2018:  Mexico has announced its response to the United States Section 232 tariffs, publishing a retaliatory tariff list for a variety of goods, including fans, the Air-conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) said in a Press communiqué.

The communiqué said that AHRI performed a preliminary analysis of Mexico’s retaliatory tariff list and identified the following member equipment: “8414.59.99 – Other (fans)”.

According to AHRI, Mexico’s step is the latest in a series of retaliatory tariffs from trading partners of the United States, including Canada, the European Union and Turkey. The communiqué said “Other” fans imported into Mexico from the United States will be subject to a 10% tariff, effective from June 6, 2018.
