Company says all pipes supplied to the HVAC sector undergo stringent testing for strength and leaks
Interpipe has established a diverse portfolio in the GCC region. Andrey Burtsev, Commercial Director for Middle East, Africa and Asia markets, Interpipe, spoke of several projects, where the company supplied seamless pipes to HVAC systems. They include developments such as the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Saudi Arabia, the National Bank of Kuwait Tower in Kuwait and Business Bay, in the UAE.
Burtsev said that the products reflect the company’s high standards and importance they place on stringent testing to avoid leakage. “Such pipes are manufactured and tested in full accordance with the requirements of ASTM A53 / A106,” he said. “An important requisite within the standard is a hydrostatic test, where a pipe is filled with pressurised water in order to be tested for strength and leaks. As a rule, testing pressure can be higher than operating pressure, and as a supplier we guarantee the safety and durability of pipes in line with all operating conditions, provided by the end-user.”
Burtsev highlighted that Interpipe’s main competitive advantage is its commitment to quality assurance and durability, saying, “We are always open and ready to provide additional tests, if required by our partners.” He shared that just last year, upon the request of the company’s official distributors, Petrofac Qatar and Saudi Pan Gulf, it “provided independent laboratory results of general corrosion speed rate test to calculate the life expectancy of the pipe products”. Burtsev said that the pipes were successfully tested and supplied for the Doha Metro and Riyadh Metro construction projects.
