DUBAI, UAE, 25 August 2019: Eurovent Middle East will be hosting an evening seminar on variable speed drives (VSDs) on September 11 in Dubai, the association announced through a Press release. The seminar, part of the association’s ‘HVACR Leadership Workshop’, will focus on specifying VSDs in projects and will highlight their impact on reducing energy consumption in existing buildings and new construction, the release said.

According to the release, the topics of discussion will include:

• Specifying part-load efficiency to ensure achieving intended savings
• Service specifications in projects; securing a sustainable choice of products and solutions
• Inverter technology and its impact on efficiencies
• Fan arrays: Applying the most suitable solution in the right place
• Specifying the digital and connected future buildings, while operating the buildings of today

The individual topics, the release said, will be followed by a feedback session and discussion, where participants will be invited to discuss any issues related to motors and drives. The topics in the session will include:

• EC vs AC motors, what are the differences?
• How to specify to guarantee the right choice of products
• Experiences in the field

Nerissa Deoraj, Director, Technical and Regulatory Affairs, Eurovent Middle East, by way of giving an outline of the workshop series, said: “We aim to provide real insight by specialists on various topics related to our industry. A full understanding of available technology is the first step towards achieving improved energy efficiency. Variable Speed Drives have changed the market and increased flexibility in regard to part load or seasonal performance requirements. In this workshop, we will take a closer look at what has to be observed when making use of this technology.”

According to the release, the ‘HVACR Leadership Workshops’ are targeted at the local consultant, MEP engineering and developer community with the intention of providing in-depth information on technologies and solutions to reduce energy consumption, and improve indoor air quality and food safety.

According to the release, the VSD seminar will take place from 6pm to 9pm at Le Meridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre. Prospective participants can register for the seminar at www.eurovent.me, the release said. Participation is limited to 100 people, and tickets will be issued on a first-come first-serve basis, the release said. According to the release, the event is free-of-charge and includes a buffet dinner.
