Empower’s third plant gets LEED Gold Certification from US Green Building Council

Company had previously also received certification for its second District Cooling plant

Dubai, UAE: According to a news report in the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation’s (Empower’s) third District Cooling plant, located in Business Bay in Dubai, has received LEED Gold Certification from the US Green Building Council (USGBC).

Empower said that the certificate “shows the company’s commitment to adopt the most stringent sustainability policy implemented in the cooling services industry”.

In the past, the company, the report mentioned, had received gold certification for its second plant in Business Bay and its warehouses in Al Qouz.

The report quoted H.E. Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, as saying: “We, at Empower, have been working under the directives of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to adopt the latest international standards and eco-friendly policies in all our projects. We are really pleased to achieve this gold certification, which comes from a prestigious authority like the US Green Building Council. This certification will motivate us to put in more efforts to guarantee that all our future projects are compatible with international standards.”
