Promotes it as a cost-effective and environment-friendly method of cooling
According to a news release, Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), urged real estate development companies participating at Cityscape Global 2012, the real estate event held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, to put district cooling on top of their priority list, especially since these companies have reportedly emerged from the industry downturn and are now fully geared to launch new projects.
Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, believes that these companies have a major responsibility to disseminate the district cooling usage as their technical teams are fully aware of the direct benefits of district cooling on these companies, end-users, the economy and society as a whole, taking into consideration the threat of the climate change that the world is facing, the news release elaborated.
Bin Shafar, reportedly pointed out that district cooling technology saves operational and maintenance costs and preserves natural resources, making it the natural choice for use in real estate projects, especially, the newly launched ones. He added that a few of the Arab countries had opened the doors for the technology, with the UAE leading the way.
