Emicool announces 7% discount on bills for next three months

Rebate across residential, commercial and industrial sector represents second phase of the stimulus package by the District Cooling utility company

DUBAI, UAE, 15 August 2020: Emirates District Cooling (Emicool) announced a seven per cent discount on declared load for the three-month period from August to October 2020 for its residential, commercial and industrial sector customers.

With the current total operating capacity of 355,000 refrigerated tons (RT), the second phase of the stimulus package will be applicable for customers falling under identified concession areas amongst Emicool’s portfolio, the district cooling utility said through a Press release.

Dr Adib Moubadder, CEO, Emicool, said: “Emicool’s efforts are always directed towards continuous coordination with our partners in the private and public sectors to maintain a safe economic climate and a thriving business sector in Dubai. Our current initiative is a translation of the directives of the government and is re-introduced with the aim of supporting companies, residents and the business sectors, enhance financial liquidity and mitigate the effects of the current economic situation. The impending growth in the district cooling sector indicates an increase in demand for efficient cooling services, and with district cooling services forming an important aspect of day-to-day lives, we are positive that this move will help provide a positive environment and reflect on the economic competitiveness.”

Emicool said it continues to play a major role in contributing to global efforts to make a positive impact on climate change by reducing consumption relying on larger operational cycle and conserving natural resources using environmentally friendly district cooling systems, which in turn, contributes to cost reduction for consumers while facilitating sustainable development.
