Emerge and Turbotim embark on a partnership to deliver solar and battery storage systems in Ras Al Khaimah
RAS AL KHAIMAH, UAE, 22 May 2025: Emerge, a joint venture between Masdar and the EDF Group, announced through a Press Release that it has signed an agreement with Turbotim, a UAE-based energy solutions company, to deploy rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS) at Turbotim’s facilities in Ras Al Khaimah.
According to Emerge, the new project includes a 1.52 megawatts peak (MWp) rooftop solar PV installation and a 5 megawatt-hour (MWh) BESS. The systems will be implemented as two identical hybrid installations, each consisting of 763kWp of solar and 2.5MWh of battery capacity, the company said. Emerge added that it will provide a full turnkey solution under a 20-year contract, covering financing, design, procurement, construction, operations and maintenance.
Turbotim is currently operating its facilities using diesel generators, according to Emerge. Emerge stated that the transition to solar PV and battery storage is expected to significantly reduce the site’s environmental impact and electricity costs. Emerge added that the system is expected to avoid over 2,178 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually, which it said is equivalent to the annual electricity use of 240 homes or removing 474 petrol cars from the road.

Emerge stated that it was established in 2021 to deliver distributed solar, BESS, off-grid and hybrid solutions to commercial and industrial clients. According to Emerge, the company currently supplies clean electricity to more than 40 sites across the GCC region, spanning sectors including education, hospitality, and industry.
