CIBSE to host decarbonisation conference in Dubai to advance net zero goals

The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) has announced the CIBSE Decarbonisation Conference 2025, a one-day event on 28 October in Dubai, aimed at exploring the challenges and opportunities in decarbonising the built environment across the Middle East

DUBAI, UAE, 22 October 2025: The CIBSE announced that the CIBSE Decarbonisation Conference 2025 will take place on 28 October at RIT Dubai. The CIBSE said that the event will bring together policymakers, engineers, consultants and sustainability professionals to address the region’s transition towards a net zero built environment.

The CIBSE stated that the conference will feature a full day of keynote addresses, technical sessions and panel discussions. The institution said that the programme will cover a range of critical topics, including passive design in hot climates, building performance optimisation, refrigerants, indoor environmental quality and energy transition strategies for commercial and industrial sectors.

The CIBSE confirmed that the line-up of speakers includes global and regional leaders from the private and public sectors. The CIBSE noted that the speakers will address key decarbonisation challenges and share project experience from across the region and beyond.

The CIBSE reported that other sessions will delve into topics such as “Setting the Net Zero Ambition”, “Global Sustainability in Cooling: Innovations and Insights”, and “Beyond Cooling: Designing for Performance-Based Thermal Comfort.” The CIBSE added that the agenda will also include discussions on “Decarbonising Digital Infrastructure”, “Data Centres and Net Zero – The Next Frontier”, “Policy Pathways for Net Zero”, “Compliance and Innovation in UAE Legislation”, “Manufacturers and Consultants – Data for Decarbonisation” and “Adapting Net Zero for MENA.”

The CIBSE emphasised that the conference is structured to promote knowledge exchange, with several networking breaks and interactive segments designed to foster collaboration across disciplines.
