Bahrain prepares for key industry forum

Key speakers include the country’s Minister of Petroleum and Energy

Following on from the success of the inaugural Gulf Industry Forum in January 2010, top-level government, industry and business leaders will converge on Bahrain again next February for the second forum in the series, to be held at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre (BIECC), the organisers, Bahrain-based Hilal Conferences & Exhibitions (HCE), said.

The forum, the organisers added, will feature influential personalities from government, industry and business, articulating their vision for the long-term economic prosperity of Bahrain and the Gulf region as part of the theme, ‘The Future is Industry’. There will be a frank exchange of information, views and opinions between the speakers and delegates.

The topics to be discussed include: Powering Industrial Development; Developing SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises); Market Innovation; and Creating Industrial and Manufacturing Businesses. The confirmed speakers at the event include Dr Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, Bahrain’s Minister of Petroleum and Energy; Sheikh Daij Al Khalifa, Chairman of Bahrain Logistics Zone; Khalid Al Qadeeri, CEO, Foulath Steel; and Mahmood Daylami, General Secretary at the Gulf Aluminium Council (GAC).

The forum, organised in association with the international event consultancy, North Star Associates; it will run alongside HCE’s flagship trade show, the Gulf Industry Fair, being held from February 8-10 at the same venue.
