Epta highlights integrated refrigeration ecosystem at EuroShop 2026
MILAN, Italy, 12 May 2026: Epta showcased its strategic shift towards delivering integrated retail refrigeration solutions at EuroShop 2026. Making the announcement through a May 12 Press Release, the company said its approach extends beyond refrigerated equipment to encompass software, consultancy, technical support and digital services throughout the lifecycle of a retail store.
Epta said its 360-degree value approach combines hardware, software, people skills and consulting services into a unified ecosystem aimed at supporting sustainable retail growth. According to the company, these services can operate together or independently, depending on customer requirements.
Epta said its refrigeration offering begins with refrigerated cabinets supported by customised refrigeration systems delivered through EptaTechnica, which the company said also manages installation and commissioning activities. The company added that EptaConcept oversees the in-store experience, while EptaService provides post-sale support, intended to maintain long-term operational performance.
According to Epta, the integrated approach is designed to extend equipment lifecycle and support sustainability objectives through maintenance and technical support delivered by qualified technicians.
The company said it introduced MyEpta at EuroShop 2026 as a new multifunction platform that serves as a centralised access point for technical data, documentation and support services. Epta said the platform consolidates manuals, KPIs, service actions and documentation into a single dashboard without requiring connectivity, additional hardware or brand-specific controllers.
The company said MyEpta operates through two modules: Asset ID and Store ID. Epta said that Asset ID uses NFC tags, applied directly to refrigerated cabinets to support diagnostics, maintenance and lifecycle monitoring. Epta added that Store ID acts as a centralised interface providing access to equipment inventories, service tools, contracts, KPIs and operational data.
Epta said MyEpta also enables access to digital services within the EptaService after-sales framework, including SwitchON for remote monitoring and control of cabinets and power packs, and GAM for alarm management. The company added that the platform also includes a digital catalogue with integrated e-commerce functionality for spare parts.
Epta described after-sales services as a core component of its value proposition for retailers. According to the company, the EptaService framework is divided into two clusters: Maintenance & Repair and Complementary Services.
Epta said the Maintenance & Repair package includes planned maintenance, refrigerant leak detection, call centre support and repair services covering labour and spare parts. According to the company, Complementary Services include connectivity support, modernisation projects and services intended to improve equipment longevity and operational continuity.
The company added that retailers can select between two service packages: Main and Xtend Extended Warranty Programme. According to Epta, the Xtend package includes access to Epta’s digital services suite.
Epta said refrigerated cabinets are increasingly evolving into service platforms capable of generating operational and commercial value beyond thermal management. The company said advances in digital technologies are enabling refrigeration systems to support store rationalisation, profitability and data-driven operational management.
The company said modern refrigeration counters generate large volumes of actionable data, enabling the integration of hardware, after-sales support and value-added services.
Epta described servitisation as a strategic model combining products, services and software to generate recurring value across the installed equipment base. Epta added that operational servitisation focuses on predictive maintenance, energy optimisation and store continuity, while commercial servitisation uses shopper behaviour data to support replenishment, merchandising and revenue generation.
The company said refrigeration cabinet data support telemonitoring, predictive maintenance, energy optimisation and shelf management functions. According to Epta, consolidated operational data also assist with compliance and real-time decision-making.
Epta highlighted its Door Opening Tracker (DOT) proof-of-concept technology, which tracks consumer interaction patterns to support replenishment strategies and identify hot and cold zones within stores. According to the company, the system is intended to reduce energy consumption, improve stock availability and reduce manual inspection requirements.
The company also presented GLASSVIEW, which it described as a retail-media digital signage solution that transforms refrigerated cabinets into advertising platforms. Epta said the system enables retailers to generate advertising revenue while providing consumers with promotional content and product information at the point of purchase.
Epta said the development of these technologies is supported through its partnership with Quividi. According to the company, Quividi’s Audience Measurement Platform uses computer vision and multisensor technology to anonymously measure audience engagement and retail media performance.
