Will design and build environment-friendly sludge dewatering equipment for Ashghal

Metito, provider of water management solutions, has announced winning a contract worth QR10 million with Ashghal Qatar WLL, as part of an agreement for partnership in Doha. The projects will see Metito design, construct and develop trailer-mounted mobile sludge dewatering units for Ashghal’s sewage treatment plants in Qatar, the announcement said, and added that the plant will adopt advanced technology that treats sludge and, at the same time, preserves the environment. Phase 1 of the project will reportedly be operational by 2012.

According to Metito, along with the designing, constructing and regular maintenance of the plant, it will also be developing an employee induction programme, following the handover of the plant, in what it claims is a sustainable effort to help ensure employees are well equipped to run and manage the plant efficiently.

Discussing the project, Walid Oraby, General Manager of Metito, Qatar and Bahrain, said: “We are honoured to partner with Ashghal. This project, among others, cements our dedication to play an effective role in developing Qatar directly through our core businesses and our efforts to align that with preserving the environments we work in.”
