RAS AL KHAIMAH, UAE, 17 OCTOBER 2023: Etihad Water and Electricity Company (EtihadWE) and Ras Al Khaimah Municipality announced in a joint statement that they have teamed up to launch that Manzily Energy Advice Service, in line with the national sustainability goals. Making the announcement through a Press release, the Municipality said the collaboration aims to motivate UAE citizens in Ras Al Khaimah to reduce household electricity consumption by offering attractive incentives.

Municipality said that Engineer Yousif Ahmed Al Ali, CEO, Etihad Water and Electricity, and H.E. Munther Mohammed Bin Shekar, Director General, Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, signed this agreement in the presence of officials from both sides.

Commenting on the agreement, Al Ali said this initiative will encourage responsible lifestyles in the UAE community and contribute to the climate neutrality goals. He said it will support Ras Al Khaimah’s Energy Efficiency and Renewables Strategy 2040.

This service, the Municipality added, will be available to all UAE citizen customers of EtihadWE residing in Ras Al Khaimah, subject to specific conditions, including obtaining an energy assessment report from the Municipality and not being eligible for the inflation allowance.

Furthermore, Al Ali said: “Through this partnership with Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, exemplified by the Manzily Energy Advice Service, we are keen on fostering an encouraging environment for adopting a sustainable and greener lifestyle among UAE citizens while reaping financial benefits. Together with Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, we aim to support the UAE’s efforts in achieving its strategic national objectives and underline our joint commitment to realising the sought-after sustainability.”

Meanwhile, H.E. Bin Shekar said: “Through the Manzily Energy Advice Service, we aim to encourage Emirati residents in Ras Al Khaimah to play an active role in shaping a more sustainable future. By partnering with EtihadWE, we are introducing a stronger financial incentive for Emiratis to adopt energy conservation measures in their homes, contributing to our shared vision of a greener UAE while saving on their energy bills.”

Municipality said that Emirati residents of Ras Al Khaimah can sign up online for the service. Following this, the Municipality added, experts from the Municipality will conduct a free in-person assessment of their home and provide a customised report with the identified opportunities to save electricity, and after the service, residents will be enrolled in an incentive scheme for three years.

Rewards are calculated based on points added to the customer’s account, displayed in the monthly bill, in exchange for reduced electricity usage compared to a baseline year (one dirham reduction for every dirham saved) after one year of enrollment, Municipality further said.
