RetrofitTech to see a large lineup of speakers

6th edition of the event will see presentations and panel participations from Etihad ESCO, RSB Dubai; Energy Efficiency & Renewables Office (Reem), Ras Al Khaimah Municipality; Abu Dhabi Energy Services; Dubai Supreme Council of Energy; Abu Dhabi City Municipality; Environment Agency Abu Dhabi; AHRI and ENOC, amongst others.

DUBAI, UAE, 21 March 2021: The 6th Edition of MENA RetrofitTech Summit 2021, scheduled to take place from March 23 to 24 at Movenpick Grand Al Bustan Dubai, will see a large lineup of speakers.

Organised by ACM and Hosted and Strategically Endorsed by Etihad Energy Services and Dubai Carbon, the Summit will be chaired by Hassan Younes, Co-CEO and Founder, GRFN & President, ASHRAE Falcon Chapter. The first session on March 23, is titled ‘A Strategic approach to energy efficiency and retrofitting’. It will see a Keynote Presentation by Faisal Al Raisi, Acting COO, Etihad ESCO, on the topic, ‘Etihad ESCO Retrofit Program: Announcement of New Projects and Initiatives’. Subsequent to that, Graeme Sims, Executive Director, RSB Dubai, will make a Keynote Presentation, titled, ‘RSB’s role in delivering Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030’.

The Keynote Presentations will be followed by a slew of technical presentations, including by Sylvania Lighting and LG Electronics Gulf, and will be punctuated by an Executive Panel Discussion, titled ‘The State of the Energy Efficiency and ESCO market in the MENA region’, with Younes moderating it and the participants including Al Raisi; Sims; Andrea Di Grigorio, Executive Director, Energy Efficiency & Renewables Office (Reem), Ras Al Khaimah Municipality; and Stephane le Gentil, COO & Acting CEO, Abu Dhabi Energy Services (ADES).

It will be followed by a session, titled ‘Promoting and Financing Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Projects’, which will include presentations by Etihad ESCO, Dubai Carbon, Enova, Reem, Radisson Hotel Group and the Emirates Green Building Council. The session will also include a Panel Discussion, titled ‘Engaging and Persuading Investors and Project Owners to retrofit’. To be moderated by Mhairi Main Garcia, Partner, Dentons & Vice Chair of the Board, Clean Energy Business Council, it will see participation from Pradeep Singh of Etihad ESCO, Nathan Hones of Carter Associates and Bachir Rajji of Radisson Hotel Group.

Day 2 of the Summit will start with a session, titled ‘Net Zero Energy Buildings and Renewables’.

Faisal Rashid, Senior Director – Demand Side Management, Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, will be making a Keynote Opening Presentation, titled ‘DSM Programs – Building Retrofit Initiative and Solar Rooftop Program’, followed by a presentation by Armstrong Fluid Technology. Younes and Garcia will also be making presentations.

The first session of Day 2 will also see a panel discussion, titled ‘Enabling Net-Zero Energy Buildings and Infrastructure’. To be moderated by Nandan Tavkar of BuroHappold Engineering, the panellists will include David Andrew Dunn of Abu Dhabi City Municipality; Dr Mohamed Dawoud, Environment Agency Abu Dhabi and Eng Amjad Abu Alika of LG Electronics Middle East & Africa.

In a latter-day session, titled ‘Cross-Sector Case Studies’, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, Grundfos, Environment Agency Abu Dhabi, AHRI, Cundall Middle East and the Emirates National Oil Company Limited (ENOC) will be making presentations.
