The British Standards Institution (BSI) carried out Al Shirawi FM’s audit over a period of four months, says company’s representative
Dubai, UAE, 3 March 2019: Al Shirawi FM completed its ISO 41001:2018 certification for Facilities Management System (FMS) and became, presumably, the UAE’s first FM business to achieve this, the company announced in a Press communiqué. The certificate was awarded by British Standards Institution (BSI) officials during a formal ceremony held on February 26, 2019, the communiqué said.
The BSI carried out Al Shirawi FM’s audit over a period of four months, having begun in October 2018, the communiqué said. During this phase, Al Shirawi FM demonstrated its ability to deliver upon the required standards, with skilled people and an efficient operational model, the communiqué further said.
Commenting on the certification, Pramodh Idicheria, COO, Al Shirawi FM, said, “We regard this exercise as a significant step in achieving excellence, which is one of the core values of our group.”
Charalampos Sarafopoulos, General Manager, Al Shirawi FM, said, “We felt adherence to the latest standard is critical to elevating the practice of FM and making our customer feel that difference we have vowed to provide.”
Krishna Kumar, General Manager, QHSE & Business Excellence, Al Shirawi FM, who led the endeavour for the certification, said: “The ISO 41001:2018 was released in April 2018 and we embarked on this endeavour soon after. The new guidelines we inherited have strengthened us further in delivering exemplary service to our clients.”
