Culoz, Rhône-Alpes, France: Manufacturer of HVAC solutions, CIAT, has announced launching a new range of air-handling units (AHUs) – CLIMACIAT. Available in three models — Airtech, Airclean and Airaccess — the new range, the announcement said, features energy-efficient and easy-to-install units for a variety of commercial applications. The company, it added, is part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corporation.

The new range, the announcement informed, is certified to perform in accordance with the latest European standards (EN 13053 and EN 1886), and is designed to meet future regulatory requirements applicable from 2018. The announcement further mentioned that the fully modular range is available as single-flow and dual-flow horizontal units for indoor installation or outdoor installation with canopy and weather-resistant protective accessories, and has more than 26 functions that can be customised to meet specific customer needs.

The flagship model of the range, Airtech, the announcement said, is currently available in nine sizes with air flow rates of up to 30,000 cubic meters per hour, and has the option to address specific needs, such as a double wall construction and 50-millimetre insulation for extra noise attenuation, polyester-coated exterior panels, low thermal bridge construction, doors on frames with large handles and adaptable control systems. It claimed that the product is tailored for a wide range of applications, including offices, administration and industrial facilities.

An air-handling solution for controlled environments, such as clean rooms, medical facilities, pharmaceutical industries and microelectronics, Airclean, the announcement said, is specifically designed to satisfy the requirements of ultra-clean environments: Decontamination, air tightness, absolute filtration and easy, minimal maintenance.

Airaccess, the company said, is the solution for multi-use commercial buildings, and is designed to achieve the highest performance levels in complete compliance with the relevant standards and regulations.

CIAT said that it has also devised an electronic control unit that is now available across the entire range. The control unit, it said, can be connected to any building management system (BMS) to optimise the energy efficiency of each unit by regulating its temperature and humidification or dehumidification levels and by managing its fans, filter fouling levels and water coils. The control function is fully integrated into each unit (box, wiring, sensors, etc.) and can be easily selected using the dedicated software and tools, it added.

Commenting on the launch, Nicolas Chouteau, Managing Director of CIAT, said: “The launch of the CLIMACIAT range is the culmination of our efforts to provide our customers with a complete range of reliable, innovative and tailor made air handling solutions. We are confident we can best serve our customers for all types of applications as CLIMACIAT combines efficiency and modularity.”
