“Certification demonstrates our efforts to enhance green building initiatives in Dubai,” says H.E. Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.
Dubai, UAE: Empower has announced that its warehouses in Al Quoz, Dubai, has achieved LEED Gold Certification from the US Green Building Council, under the ‘LEED for New Construction Rating System’.
According to the US Green Building Council, “this certification identifies Empower Warehouses as a showcase example in sustainable design and demonstrates the company’s leadership in transforming the building industry”.
H.E. Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, said,“This certificate crowns our efforts in line with the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to build green economy in the UAE under the slogan ‘A green economy for sustainable development’.”
Bin Shafar said that Empower is designing its new facilities to match Dubai’s vision in building a sustainable future. He said: “Green buildings take into consideration the nature of the design and its role in reducing water and energy consumption. Also, the facilities have to play a role in generating renewable energy to decrease operational costs and enhance performance as part of creating a healthy working and residential environment and to defy global environmental challenges.”
He added, “We are persistent to adopt most efficient design solutions as this pays off not only to the district cooling industry but also to our end users.”
