New LX versions with CO2 as refrigerant will have operating pressures up to 60 bar
Bochum, Germany: As a part of its Goedhart range, Kelvion has announced introducing Cu-Al air coolers with copper-aluminium heat exchangers, to include an LX version for operation using CO2 as a refrigerant, and additionally optimising them to the refrigerant’s thermodynamic properties. The new LX versions, the announcement said, have been designed for a range of cooling and freezing applications at operating pressures up to 60 bar.
The company informed that the LX versions are available for the following ranges: VCI (ceiling-mounted air coolers with single discharge), VCe (air coolers with large and especially energy-efficient fans), DVS (dual discharge), VNS (with extra-low air velocities for sensitive goods, such as vegetables and fruit) and BC50/BC50XF (for blast-freezing).
With this portfolio, said Kelvion, air coolers designed for CO2 applications are now available for all key areas of food and beverage logistics, and that in addition to the LX version, the standard versions of these ranges will continue to be available for use with synthetic refrigerants.
Kelvion revealed that the Goedhart range of air coolers can also be designed for operational pressures greater than 60 bar, and are manufactured as special versions with stainless steel heat exchanger tubes.
