Ziehl-Abegg reports investing additional EUR 90 mn in production capacity

Company says funding will be allocated to machinery, tooling and manufacturing sites across Europe, North America and Asia

KÜNZELSAU, Germany, 29 June 2026: Ziehl-Abegg announced an additional investment of EUR 90 million in machinery, tooling and production capacity across Europe, North America and Asia.

Fan production at Ziehl-Abegg

Making the announcement through a June 29 Press Release, Ziehl-Abegg said the investment is driven by growing global demand for fans used in AI data centres, as well as continued expansion in building ventilation, heat pump and refrigeration applications. Ziehl-Abegg added that the additional funding represents one of the largest investment programmes in its history, allocated on top of capital expenditure already planned.

Ziehl-Abegg said the additional funding will be used for new machinery, tooling and production equipment at sites in Europe, the United States and Asia, with the objective of meeting rising demand for energy-efficient fans and drive systems over the long term.

Joachim Ley

Joachim Ley, Chief Executive Officer, Ziehl-Abegg, said: “We are seeing highly dynamic growth across our global markets. Demand from the AI data centre sector is increasing particularly rapidly. At the same time, we are experiencing strong growth in applications related to building ventilation, heat pumps and refrigeration.”

Ziehl-Abegg said market demand is developing across several continents such that existing facilities are already operating at high utilisation levels. Ziehl-Abegg added that in the United States, the conditions for round-the-clock three-shift production have been established and that several German sites are also operating continuously, including weekend shifts. Ziehl-Abegg said its plant in China has been running a three-shift operation since last autumn.

Ley said: “These investments do more than strengthen our competitive position. They also help secure the jobs of our existing employees around the world. By expanding capacity across all major regions, we are creating a stable foundation for the continued development of our business.”
