The installation of the system was originally slated for 2014.
The White House is renovating a 27-year-old HVAC system. The upgrade, approved during President Barack Obama’s time in office, will cost USD 2 million and isscheduled to take about 17 days to complete, US media reported.
The upgrades, originally slated for 2014, will be done in the West Wing of the White House, which contains many of the offices of the President of the United States, including the Oval Office, the Cabinet Room, the Situation Room and the Roosevelt Room. Owing to the frequency of use, the HVAC system’s usage age is pegged at around 84 years old.
