WETEX 2016 to host a series of discussions, seminars and workshops

The first Dubai Solar Show and the third Green Week will be held in conjunction to the main event.

Dubai, UAE: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, organiser of the 18th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2016), has said that it has planned a series of activities, seminars and workshops on the sidelines of the main event, aiming to maximise its benefits for exhibitors and visitors. The activities, according to an announcement on the Dubai Media Office website, will be attended by specialists and pioneers in energy, water and environment as they spread a culture of sustainability, and strengthen national and regional efforts to achieve a Green Economy.

The event, the announcement said, will be held from October 4 to 6, 2016, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, and under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of DEWA.

The announcement revealed that similar events will be held in parallel during the first Dubai Solar Show, happening in conjunction with WETEX, under the umbrella of Green Week. Organised by DEWA for the third year in a row, the Green Week, the announcement said, will seek to highlight the importance of energy conservation and optimal ways of its production and consumption. Furthermore, the DEWA Academy will host workshops on sustainability along with the Climate Change Ambassadors at DEWA, added the announcement.

The event, the announcement said, will witness active participation from various specialties, including students and academics, in seminars and workshops. It added that latest innovations will be highlighted to visitors to promote sustainable solutions and latest renewable energy technologies at the event.

“WETEX 2016 will organise a series of activities and events during the exhibition under the umbrella of third Green Week and in conjunction with the first Dubai Solar Show,” said H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, Founder and Chairman of WETEX. “The exhibition enables visitors, exhibitors, and other stakeholders to benefit from conferences, workshops and specialised events. It is also a venue for hosting experts and specialists from around the world while discussing the growing use of solar energy in the region to achieve sustainable development, and to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.”
