The index brings together 100 European listed companies that contribute the most to the low carbon transition.
Paris, France: Europe-based environmental solutions company, Veolia has announced joining the Euronext Low Carbon 100 Europe index, which refers to the 100 largest European companies with the lowest CO2 emissions in the sectors to which they belong. The index, the company further said, is based on an in-depth assessment of the carbon footprint of each company and the products and services they sell.
Veolia said that the rating assigned to the company in 2016 takes into account the rating attributed to it by British rating agency – CDP, its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint, and its investments in research and development aimed at reducing its CO2 emissions.
