Workshop aims to address concerns arising from the implementation of UAE.

The UAE government has announced a workshop to explain the implementation of requirements for registration and labelling of non-ducted air conditioners. The workshop will be held during the Big 5 International Building & Construction Show on November 22 from 1 to 3pm, at the Fairmont Dubai Hotel. The workshop is open to manufacturers and traders of non-ducted room air conditioners and, therefore, covers single phase household (window and split) air conditioners. Minimum Energy Performance (MEP) limits and labelling for this equipment are defined in UAE.S 5010: 2011 Part 1.

The aim of the workshop is to address specific issues and concerns that arise from the implementation of UAE.S 5010:2011 Part 1, which is scheduled for January 2012.

The label will be based on a five-star system, with five being the most energy efficient, correlated to the EER performance rating of the equipment manufactured or sold in the UAE. The EER limits are:
