RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, 18 December 2023: Samsung said that its recently opened manufacturing facility in Dammam, in partnership with Zamil Air Conditioners Company, is part of a strategic initiative to produce Samsung Digital Variable Multi (DVM) air conditioners, featuring Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) technology.

Making the announcement through a Press release, Samsung said that the economic growth in Saudi Arabia, driven by the ambitious transformation plan powered by Vision 2030, has led to a surge in the construction of giga projects across the country. Samsung said the establishment of a manufacturing factory with Zamil strategically aligns with this transformative phase. Furthermore, Samsung said that, with Vision 2030 initiatives, the importance of effective contributions to the environment has elevated the demand for energy-efficient solutions. The company said that its DVM air conditioner is at the forefront of technological innovation and provides HVAC systems with energy-saving systems that cater to the specific needs of Saudi Arabia’s vision.

This collaboration, the company said, marks a pivotal move for Samsung and Zamil and offers opportunities for expanded collaboration in multiple domains, commenced by local production of energy-efficient commercial air conditioners using VRF technology to provide advanced HVAC solutions by leveraging Zamil’s experience in the manufacturing of air conditioners and Samsung’s cutting-edge technologies. Samsung added that its expertise in products that offer futuristic solutions, positions the partnership to facilitate HVAC management, especially in mega projects with high expectations and critical operation requirements.

This endeavour, Samsung said, is reinforced by the localisation of the industry and the transfer of technological expertise, aligning with the national strategy to strengthen local manufacturing capabilities and increase local content – a key aspect of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

Moreover, Samsung said, the initiative would also contribute significantly to creating job opportunities for the youth in Saudi Arabia. Samsung said its DVM system has evolved over time, incorporating inverter technology for precise temperature control and energy savings. The company said the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms optimises performance, ensuring systems adapt intelligently to changing conditions, maximising efficiency and enhancing user comfort. Furthermore, the company said that the DVM system addresses diverse needs, including those of project owners, emphasising durability and energy footprint, to building management system (BMS) requirements and installers seeking easier installation processes and time-saving maintenance, ultimately meeting the expectation of end users regarding comfort.

Samsung said the investment in the DVM system has generated substantial demand in the market of Saudi Arabia, and it can be attributed to the DVM system’s efficiency, reliability and adaptability to the region’s challenging climate.
