The conference will take place from June 22 to 26, 2019, in Kansas City, Missouri, says body
Atlanta, Georgia, USA, 6 March 2019: ASHRAE has announced that registration is open for its 2019 Annual Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, through a Press communiqué. The conference will be held from June 22 to 26, 2019 at the Kansas City Marriott and Kansas City Convention Center, the communiqué said. The five-day conference includes sessions addressing current trends and technologies in the HVAC&R industry, as well as tours, social events and a keynote message from Mike Massimino, former NASA astronaut, advisor and author, the communiqué said. Additionally, Darryl K. Boyce, the incoming 2019-2020 ASHRAE President, will present the Society theme for the coming year, on June 24, 2019.
Carrie Anne Monplaisir, Chair of the 2019 Annual Conference, said: “With the global movement towards sustainable energy, the HVAC&R industry is ever-changing. We continue to face new challenges as we adapt our designs, codes and technology to fit these constantly changing criteria. The 2019 ASHRAE Annual Conference aims to address these challenges, and offer best practices, lessons learned and innovative design strategies to be applied in a wide range of topics.”
According to ASHRAE, this conference’s technical programme will include sessions addressing engineering practices, research and professional development. Nearly one-quarter of the technical programme will be devoted to the presentation of current research in the HVAC&R industry, the communiqué said. The Research Summit will include a partnership with ASHRAE’s archival journal, Science and Technology for the Built Environment, the communiqué further said. Another quarter of the technical programme will comprise of the Fundamentals and Applications track and the systems and equipment in the Built-environment track, the communiqué also said. Nearly a third of the programme will advance knowledge and practices in three focused tracks: ‘Optimisation in HVAC&R’, ‘Commissioning new and existing buildings’ and ‘Modelling throughout the building lifecycle’, the communiqué additionally said. The Occupant Health and Safety track covers a range of topics from ventilation to health, while the Professional Development tracks offer sessions to sharpen individual, personal skills, including career growth, ethics, business development and liability, the communiqué added.
