To be located in Jebel Ali Free Zone, the facility will include training rooms, logistics centre and showrooms
Dubai, UAE: Manufacturer of pump systems, Wilo has announced laying the foundation stone for its new facility, located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), Dubai.
The ceremony, the announcement said, was attended by selected guests and customers from the Middle, including high-ranking delegations, such as Talal Al Hashemi, COO of Jafza, and Carsten Krumm, Executive Board member of Wilo.
The 8,000-square-metre complex, the company revealed, will have its own assembly line and feature office space, showrooms, a logistics centre and dedicated training rooms. The training rooms, the so-called “Wilo-Academy”, offer dealers, engineers, installations and consumers a location for attending training sessions for the various applications of Wilo products, it added.
Commenting on the facility, Krumm said: “The role of the city as a platform and logistic hub for trade in the Middle East, Dubai’s efficient infrastructure by land, sea and air and the long-term economic stability offered by this country were the crucial factors tipping the balance in favour of investing here. The construction is scheduled for completion in early 2018.”
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World and Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, added: “We are very happy to host the Wilo state-of-the-art facility in Jafza, which is the globally recognised hub for the wider Middle East region that spans from West Asia, the CIS, and Africa to the Indian Subcontinent, a market of more than 2.5 billion consumers. Wilo’s expansion underlines its vision and commitment to the region and we are sure the new facility will enable them to further strengthen their strong presence here.”
