Tabreed Yas 01 Plant is one of the largest district cooling projects by Tabreed. It is responsible for providing cooling to various hotels in the district, including Yas Marina, Yas Water World, Ferrari World and Yas Mall.

The plant currently has 45,000 RT installed capacity, with 60,000 RT ultimate capacity offering room for expansion

Chiller Room 

With eight modules of chillers, composed of two chillers each, the plant has a total of 16 chillers. Every chiller has a capacity of 2500 RT.

The plant currently utilises centrifugal chillers from Johnson Controls and motors from ABB. The plant is also equipped with variable frequency drives.

Cooling Towers

The plant has eight cooling towers, one for every group of chiller, and is an open loop, using potable water

The plant has a capacity of 5,000 RT of thermal energy storage, which is expandable
