Arlington, Virginia, USA, 6 February 2019: Last week, New Mexico became the 19th member of the United States Climate Alliance, joining 18 states and Puerto Rico, AHRI announced in a Press communiqué. New Mexico is the second state to join the Climate Alliance this year, following Illinois, on January 23, 2019, the communiqué said.

According to AHRI, states in the Climate Alliance now make up 44% of the population of the United States and over half of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The communiqué said goals for the Climate Alliance include reducing ‘super pollutants’, such as hydrofluorocarbons, modernising electric grids and investing in renewable energy.
