New Jersey, USA, 18 December 2018: On December 11, New Jersey Senator Linda Greenstein introduced S 3291, a companion bill to Assemblyman Andrew Zwicker’s A 4775, AHRI said in a Press communiqué.

Both bills would require the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to promulgate regulations establishing an HFC emission monitoring and reporting programme, and develop recommended legislative and regulatory strategies by June 30, 2020, for achieving a state-wide goal of a 40% reduction in HFC emissions below the 2018 level, by 2035, the communiqué said.

According to AHRI, by introducing companion legislation, both bills can receive simultaneous consideration in their respective chambers. The communiqué said that AHRI staff has initiated contact with both legislative offices and will provide an update on these bills after the holidays.
