Dubai, UAE, 26 March 2018: Technology can bring great benefits to firefighters, but they are often the last in the queue to receive the benefits, said Roy Bishop, Chairman, Clarita Solutions, while illustrating the use of molecular nanotechnology for fire safety.

Explaining the key features, Bishop said, “The solution, GreenSol, is a suppression technology; it is non-toxic and does not contain chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) gases.”

Speaking on the solution, Bishop said: “In the process of extinguishing fires, the heat energy is chemically changed into molecular bond energy; it removes the heat source and breaks the fire triangle. The particles released from the aerosol, interfere with the fire propagation.” He added that the solution decreases the temperature, absorbs the energy, interrupts the chain reaction and extinguishes the fire, through a physical and chemical reaction.

Bishop further said that the solution, Greensol, is mainly for compartment fires and could work in multiple applications, such as oil and gas installations, heavy industries and server rooms, among others.
