Augsburg, Germany: Green City Energy, an alternative energy provider based in Munich, has announced tying up with meteocontrol to integrate all 25 of its solar parks into a single monitoring platform, in a bid to increase efficiency and returns of the operation management in its system portfolio, which comprises about 40 MWp of installed PV power.

In terms of hardware, said Green City Energy, a subsidiary of the non-profit environmental organisation Green City e.V., a large share of the existing systems can be added to meteocontrol’s VCOM virtual control room, without any additional work, and with only minor modifications to the hardware used in a few of its PV systems.
With the help of the uniform monitoring solution, Green City Energy can reportedly effectively and cost-efficiently streamline its processes in operation management and asset management.

meteocontrol, dealing in professional remote monitoring of PV systems, on its part, revealed that it will soon migrate the entire PV system portfolio to the uniform platform, and plans to manage Green City Energy’s future solar projects on its platform.

“Thanks to meteocontrol’s uniform platform, we spend less time each day managing our system portfolio,” said Jens Mühlhaus, a member of Green City Energy’s Board. “With the help of fast and simple error analysis, we can measurably boost our system performance.”
