The Expo will take place between October 20, 2020 and April 10, 2021
Dubai, UAE: Visitors at the 15th edition of the Arab Media Forum, on May 10 and 11 in Dubai, were in for a visual treat as the master plan of Expo 2020 Dubai was revealed through augmented reality and digital technology, according to a WAM news report.
To be held under the main theme of ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’, the Expo pavilions, the report said, will have the following sub-themes: Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability. The report highlighted that Expo 2020 Dubai will take place between 20th October, 2020 and 10th April, 2021, with approximately 25 million visitors expected. The Expo site, the report added, will spread across a two-square-kilometre radius, revolving around Al Wasl meeting plaza.
Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Director-General of Expo 2020 Dubai, said the master plan aims to seamlessly integrate the three sub-themes into the urban design, infrastructure, delivery, operations and legacy of the mega event, according to the report.
The report quoted Al Hashemi as saying: “We strive to make Expo 2020 Dubai a comprehensive experience that begins from now until the end of its activities in 2021. Its impact will last long to benefit future generations for decades to come. We intend to organise an exceptional event, which represents a platform for connecting minds from around the world to embody the spirit of joint work that paves the way for a promising future.”
Revealing that the mega event-related work is underway in full swing as per the schedule, Ahmed Al Khateeb, Senior Vice President of Real Estate Development at Expo 2020 Dubai, said: “The master plan design of Expo 2020 Dubai makes it an exceptional experience and a journey of discovery for the visitors. It inspires them to actively contribute to making the future according to the vision announced by Expo 2020 Dubai.”
