Focus on design of underground parking ventilation systems using jet fans

Leminar Air Conditioning has announced conducting a seminar on “Design of Underground Parking Ventilation System using Jet Fans” on October 14 in Oman.

The seminar, said the announcement, was presented along with Soler & Palau (S&P), Spain, and was attended by delegates from key government departments, consultants and contractors.

Leminar gave the following event details: The panel comprised Jordi Canet, Export Area Manager at S&P; Amer Ahmad Fauri, Business Development Manager for S&P; Pramodh Idicheria, GM of Leminar; and Faisal Shaikh, Area Manager of Leminar Oman.

According to Leminar, Paul Mason, Business Development Manager at S&P, and a veteran in the field of ventilation, who was the main speaker at the seminar, reportedly explained the difference between smoke clearance and smoke control, and described the operation of a jet fan with examples of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and claimed that the CFD software developed inhouse by S&P’s engineering design team, and used by the company, was the most accurate analysis available in the industry. The seminar reportedly concluded with a presentation on the jet fans options available in Oman from S&P, independently tested and approved for F200, F300 and F400 emergency fire smoke operations.

Emphasising the importance of the seminar, Idicheria said, “We always believe in educating the industry, and we have got excellent feedback from the guests who attended the event.”
