Event, to celebrate the inauguration of the UAE Chapter of ISHRAE, will focus on dialogues in sustainable HVACR and architecture
DUBAI, UAE, 16 January 2023: ISHRAE said it would be celebrating the inauguration of its UAE Chapter by conducting Urjavaran, an energy and environment conference, on January 25 at Marriot Hotel, Al Jaddaf, in Dubai. Speaking to Climate Control Middle East, the organisers said the event would be held under the 2022-2023 theme of the Chapter: ‘Dialogues in Sustainable HVACR and Architecture’.
According to ISHRAE, the conference would feature an installation and oath-taking ceremony involving office-bearers of the ISHRAE UAE chapter, and include addresses by N S Chandrasekhar, President, ISHRAE; Nishant Gupta, ISHRAE Vice President (Technical); Pankaj Sareen, ISHRAE Vice President (Communications) and Chair, Urjavaran; and Moan Abraham, President, ISHRAE UAE Chapter. The conference would also feature a panel discussion, titled ‘Achieving Energy Efficiency and Occupant Health through VRF Technology’. Ashish Rakheja, Managing Partner, AEON Integrated Building Design Consultants, would moderate the discussion, ISHRAE said.
According to ISHRAE, besides Abraham, the office-bearers of the UAE Chapter are Agnel D’Souza, President-Elect; S S Swamy, Treasurer; and Ajith Abraham, Secretary.
ISHRAE said the conference and the establishment of the UAE Chapter represent key milestones for the year. Chandrasekhar said: “Sustainability is the buzzword, if we have to care for future generations. Energy conservation and sustainability are synonyms in the dictionary of HVACR. ISHRAE, with its first programme by the UAE Chapter in Dubai, is enriching education and knowledge dissemination to the building services fraternity through its National Programme, Urjavaran.”
Gupta added: “We cannot solve our problems with the same thought process that we used when we created them. So, join us at Urjavaran to unlearn and learn.” Gupta, giving an indication of the technically heavy nature of the conference programme, urged potential attendees to witness the power of EvapCal, the ISHRAE-developed simulation tool with pre-installed hourly weather data files relating to all major cities in India. According to ISHRAE, EvapCal calculates design parameters for evaporative coolers of direct, indirect, and two-stage (indirect-direct) types with thermal comfort analysis on a psychrometric chart.
According to ISHRAE, Urjavaran has the support of Daikin (Presenting Partner); Carrier (Host Country Partner); HTL Aircon (Engineering Solutions Partner); Leminar and Rheem (Knowledge Partners); Mexflow (Copper Partner); Bry-Air and DRI (India Innovation Partners); Blue Star (Sustainability Partner); and ABL Technical Services, Advance Valves, HisenseHVAC, Humidin, Casilica and SRM Tec (Strategic Partners).
