Future Cities Show to focus on six core elements of sustainability

Show to highlight and provide details on waste management, water management, green building, sustainable cities and communities, economic growth and clean energy.

Dubai, UAE: The inaugural edition of ‘Future Cities Show’ in Dubai, UAE, which will run from April 2 to 4 at Dubai World Trade Centre, will shed light on six core elements of sustainability, according to a event press release.

Held under the theme ‘Sustainability, Innovation and Happiness’, the event, the press release said, is a global platform for companies and organisations engaged in developing an advanced infrastructure all over the world. The press release added that the event will attract big investors and those who have creative and innovative ideas to build future cities from economic, technological and environmental aspects, in addition to discussing policies and codes that are required to encourage sustainability in the country.

The show, the press release said, will highlight and provide details on six key elements of sustainable development, including waste management, water management, Green Building, sustainable cities and communities, economic growth and clean energy. It will also present the best environmental practices to reduce carbon footprint, less pollution and better luxury for residents of these cities, added the press release.

“Sustainable development is of prime importance to safeguard and secure the future for generations to come,” said Dawood Al Shezawi, Chairman of Strategic and Head of the organisation committee of the new show. “However, to build a smart and sustainable city of the future requires consistency, cooperation, and transition of all sectors of the economy and across all segments of society. As such, the Future Cities Show will focus and explore sustainable alternatives that support the UAE’s march to a more eco-friendly and vibrant future.”

He added: “In years to come, a major population of the country will live in future cities. As such it is important that these cities are designed and developed to support sustainability. International standards are the foundation for building smarter and more sustainable environments. The Future Cities Show will present new ideas, technology and products that will strengthen technology and efficiency thereby promoting sustainability.”
