Dubai, UAE: Farnek has announced that it has been awarded ‘Approved Contractor’ status by the United Kingdom’s National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC). With this, the announcement added, the company has purportedly become the first and sole UAE-based home maintenance and commercial facilities management company to be awarded accreditation.

The company highlighted that it has been awarded the status in recognition of the “technical ability of its highly competent workforce of technicians, stringent health and safety procedures, extensive risk assessment undertakings and various training programs”.

Owned by Certsure, NICEIC, Farnek said, provides certification to a number of firms from a broad range of sectors by providing training, technical advice, certification and information on the latest industry trends.

Farnek revealed that a NICEIC-qualified engineer had conducted rigorous assessment process, during which, he evaluated several examples of electrical work completed by the company, checked that all documentation was accurate, up-to-date and filed appropriately, all equipment was maintained and of a high standard and that all supervisory staff were trained and have the relevant qualifications and experience.

“NICEIC accreditation,” said Markus Oberlin, CEO of Farnek, “embodies our commitment to provide high-quality services and gives our customers and clients the confidence to know that electrical work is carried out to the highest technical standards by a reputable and reliable company.”

“NICEIC has been assessing the electrical competence of electricians in the UK for nearly sixty years and currently maintains more than 26,000 registered contractors,” said Emma Clancy, CEO of Certsure. “We are delighted to work with Farnek in Dubai, to promote safety and electrical inspection on many levels and bring these high standards, through cooperation, to a range of private companies and government entities in the UAE and the Middle East.”

Robert Rees, Training and Development Manager at Farnek, said: “Training is the cornerstone of our business strategy. With over 3,500 staff, it is essential that we develop and empower our employees to recognise, understand and conform to these international standards and industry best practice.” He added that to achieve the objective, Farnek had invested in a training facility where theoretical knowledge, practical hands-on instruction and advice are offered.

Farnek also mentioned that eight members of its staff have recently been awarded with certification from the British Institute of Cleaning Services (BICSc), in recognition of providing the most advanced, comprehensive and stringent set of standards within the cleaning industry.
