Electricity prices have increased and people are looking for sustainable and cost-effective solutions, says Product Marketing Manager, Daikin Middle East and Africa
Dubai, UAE, 30 October 2018: The overall market demand is steered towards products that are energy efficient, asserts Sana Hamdani, Product Marketing Manager, Daikin Middle East and Africa, during Daikin’s Technology Partnership event with Galaxy Cooling Technologies. She said that electricity prices have increased and people are looking for sustainable and cost-effective solutions.
Highlighting the challenges in meeting client demands, Hamdani said, “The biggest difficulty is educating the client in the use and availability of inverter technology.” HVAC equipment in buildings, she said, will provide the end-user with limited energy efficiency, as compared to inverter technology, which increases energy savings. Elaborating, she said that clients today can handle energy consumption with the help of smart sensors. Referring to the intelligent eye as one such solution, she said that the sensor can be used in lighting and air conditioning to control the brightness and temperature in a room, based on the occupancy level.
Discussing the role of cost, Hamdani said, “Cost is always a factor, if the client does not understand the concept.” The total life-cycle cost of a unit, she said, often exceeds the capital cost of the product. Sana added, “Using energy-efficient technology will not only allow you to save more but might also help the client recover the capital cost spent on a product.”
