Empower wins two Golden Bridge Awards

Receives top prize in ‘Company of the Year’ and ‘Executive Achievement of the Year’ categories

DUBAI, UAE, 2 March 2023: Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation PJSC (Empower) won two Gold Awards in the annual Golden Bridge Business and Innovation Awards 2022, Empower said through a Press release, dated March 2, 2023. The Golden Bridge Awards programme, Empower added, honours leading companies from various industrial sectors in the world, based on their corporate performance, innovations, products and services, customer satisfaction programmes, leadership, initiatives and other parameters.

Empower said it was recognised as the Gold Winner for ’Company of the Year’ in the Energy and Utilities category for 2022, in recognition of its scientific and practical innovations in developing the District Cooling industry in the world and raising the standards of sustainability of the sector.

H.E. Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO, Empower was honored with Gold Winner Award for ‘Executive Achievement of the Year’ in the Energy & Utilities category for 2022, in recognition of his pioneering contribution in encouraging the region to adopt District Cooling concepts and his prominent role in leading Empower to become the world’s largest District Cooling services provider, the company said.

Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Bin Shafar said: “The winning of these two global awards from the Golden Bridge Awards programme is an incentive for our work teams to move forward in making a qualitative difference. It is also an international recognition of Empower’s efforts to transforming the cooling industry locally and globally, and an encouragement for decision-makers to adopt District Cooling solutions and apply more integrated green practices.”

H.E. Bin Shafar explained that Empower has become a role model to companies in adopting technologies, including artificial intelligence, in its operations. Empower said it uses Thermal Energy Storage (TES) systems to optimise energy usage and advanced SCADA system, which enables reading of more than a million data related to cooling towers, chillers and distribution networks. He pointed out that the company’s success in achieving huge savings, in terms of energy and protection of natural resources, is the fruit of its ongoing commitment to contribute in building a sustainable future based on a diversified economy and zero carbon emissions.
