Empower sponsors DC workshop

‘District Cooling for Designers and Owners Workshop’ will focus on two guide books, which the utility describes as unique references for research and studies that contribute to raising awareness among professionals

Dubai, UAE, 25 March 2019: Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) is sponsor of a specialised workshop in collaboration with the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), on the updated  edition of the ‘District Cooling Guide’ and the ‘Owner’s Guide for buildings served by District Cooling’, the company said through a Press communiqué. 

The workshop will take place on April 17 at the Address Hotel Dubai Marina in the presence of Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower; Steve Comstock, ASHRAE Business Development Manager EMEA and Dr Ahmed Ala’a, Director & Chairman of Region-At-Large ASHRAE (Board Directors).

According to the communiqué, the workshop will review the two publications under the supervision of specialists and researchers in the cooling sector from around the world. The two publications, the communiqué said, are unique references for research and studies that contribute to raising awareness among professionals and those who are interested in adopting District Cooling systems.

Empower met with ASHRAE members on the sidelines of ASHRAE’s Winter Conference and AHR Expo in January 2019, in Atlanta, Georgia to review the first draft of the publications, the communiqué said. During the meeting, participants received a comprehensive report on the design and implementation phases, the communiqué added. They also conducted a complete and final review of the digital and paper versions of the two publications, the communiqué further added.
