Roudha Bin Bahr

Dubai, 9 October 2017: Danfoss will be supporting Emirati HVAC engineering student, Roudha Bin Bahr, at the WorldSkills 2017 competition, the company said through a Press communiqué. The event will be held from October 15 to 18, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

According to the communiqué, Bin Bahr is the only female HVAC  engineering student to compete in the ‘refrigeration and air conditioning’ category.

Speaking on the occasion, Bin Bahr said: “Being the first Emirati female engineer to compete in the ‘refrigeration and air conditioning’ category of a global competition is a huge motivation, and I have had such incredible support from my friends, family and Danfoss.

“I wanted to work with Danfoss after finding out about their innovative online learning platform and the training schemes they create for young people. I have learned so much from my mentor, Sami Jamil, a technical engineer at Danfoss, whom I find very inspiring.”

Ziad Al-Bawaliz, Senior Director of Danfoss Cooling, Turkey, Middle East and Africa, added: “Supporting and strengthening the skills of young people in our field is incredibly important to me on both a personal and professional level. As one of the largest engineering groups in the world, we have a responsibility to nurture and develop talent for generations to come. Through the partnership, Bin Bahr would be provided with all the necessary support, which includes hands-on mentoring by Jamil, our technical engineer.”
