Centro Elettrotecnico Sperimentale Italiano (CESI), a Milan, Italy-based company that provides energy consultancy services, has recently signed a joint venture with GCC Electrical Testing Laboratory (GCCETL), to design, establish and operate a testing laboratory in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia. Dr Floris Hendrikus Schulze, Managing Director, CESI, shared the news with Climate Control Middle East, emphasising that the laboratory will be designed according to the highest international standards, with the objective to “support the development of the electric power sector in the Kingdom and GCC region”.

“Quality assurance and control of electrical and electromechanical components will become very important with growth in the number of projects in [the] GCC [region] and, more specifically, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” Dr Schulze said. “Therefore, this laboratory will become a key asset in the industry in ensuring quality [and] developing and executing new testing activities tailored for this region.” Dr Schulze added that the laboratory is a significant step in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and will contribute to localising manufacturing and services, fostering a knowledge-based economy, supporting research and enhancing energy efficiency.
