2. VIEWPOINT

In this episode, we explore whether the HVACR ecosystem in the Middle East, Africa

and India regions are prepared for environmental treaties, trade shifts and climate pressure, or not. Indeed, are the regions ready for the refrigerant transition?

We spoke to Nabil Shahin, the Managing Director of AHRI MENA, on the impact of net-zero targets, the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol and other environmental commitments on HVACR manufacturers, among other topics.

3. FEATURE

In this episode, the spotlight is on disruption of sea routes owing to geopolitical challenges. The feature looks at HVACR supply chains and examines how HVACR manufacturers and suppliers are working to maintain business continuity, how they are adapting to prolonged logistics uncertainty while trying to maintain supply continuity across the Gulf region.

The feature is based on interviews with Kamran Birjees Khan, CEO, NIA (distributor of GREE air conditioning products in the UAE) and Rennie Sequeira, General Manager, DC Serve.

The feature serves to highlight that at times of sea route disruption, supply chains are not simply delayed, they are redesigned; that inventory management is no longer clerical, it is strategic, that warehousing is no longer secondary, it is defensive infrastructure, and that clear client communication on shipping-related challenges is no longer an afterthought but is central to business continuity.

The feature seeks to highlight that supply chain at times of disruption is best built around planning, flexibility, transparency, financial stability and resilience, that the companies that adapt first will define the next phase of HVAC supply routes.

The feature serves as a guide on how manufacturers and suppliers can respond in the event of future geopolitical challenges.

PLEASE NOTE: The recording of this feature was conducted in early June 2026. CCME ON AIRE conducted interviews for this feature in end-May 2026. Since then, talks on re-opening the Strait of Hormuz have progressed, signalling an imminent return to normalcy.
