Applied insulation encapsulant receives Silver Gaia Award
Carlisle HVAC, manufacturer of duct sealants, adhesives, hardware and accessories, has announced receiving the Silver Gaia Award for its RE-500 – an antimicrobial, robotically applied insulation encapsulant. It was chosen from more than 120 entrants competing for top status as the green building industry’s most innovative new technologies, the announcement claimed, and added that Carlisle HVAC was one of only two silver medal winners and seven overall award winners chosen in a year of rapid innovation in the green building industry.
Dubbing it as ‘revolutionary’, the manufacturer said that RE-500 could be used in conjunction with ISAAC (the Inspecting, Sealing and Advanced Cleaning Robotic System), and explained that the low-VOC coating was ideal for critical projects, such as hospitals and schools. According to Carlisle HVAC, the product’s semi-gloss finish provides a surface that prevents debris accumulation that could lead to mould growth. It also revealed that ISAAC and RE-500 offered three major benefits in one package: duct system inspection, air quality improvement and greater energy efficiency.
“Being a Gaia Award winner is a significant achievement for Carlisle HVAC,” said the company’s Marketing Manager, Billy Prewitt. “It has always been our goal to provide the highest quality product, while preserving our environment and its resources.”
The annual Gaia Awards, presented by the Big 5 International Building and Construction Show, is an endeavour to recognise green building products in the green building industry.
