Manheim, Pennsylvania: Carel, which deals in control solutions for air conditioning, refrigeration and heating, and systems for humidification and evaporative cooling, introduced two new models of its humiSonic humidifiers family at the 2016 AHR Expo in Orlando, Florida.
According to the company, the ‘humiSonic direct’ is designed to provide energy-saving solutions for direct room humidification and has features such as 10% energy consumption, 10,000 hours of guaranteed operation and one μ water droplet size. It is a stand-alone unit, which encompasses a control panel/power supply and air humidity probe, said the official release.
The product, the company said, is suitable for every type of application, including data centres, museums, offices, printing facilities and cold storage. The official release also mentioned that the product includes an anti-drip design and a thin-jet or “blade” of air, delivered from the front of the unit. These features, the company said, make it easy to install and is ideal for new applications as well as retrofit installations.
The humiSonic ventilation, the announcement said, is ideal for duct ventilation and comprises two parts: the main body (containing the piezoelectric transducers), and the electrical power and control panel. Installed directly in the air flow, the product, the company said, makes adiabatic humidification available in smaller ducts by atomising water into very fine droplets, which are instantly absorbed. This, the company added, provides a high energy-efficiency alternative to steam humidification.
“The extension of the humiSonic series coincides with improvements in performance to provide maximum reliability and minimum maintenance,” said Luigi Nalini, Group CEO of Carel, adding, “The new humiSonic family provides 90% energy savings compared to a steam humidifier and almost instant complete absorption of the atomised droplets.”
