ASHRAE Qatar Oryx Chapter to hold seminar on space pressurisation

ASHRAE Qatar Oryx Chapter has announced conducting a full day seminar titled “Space Pressurisation: Concept and Practice” on March 8 at the Millennium Hotel, Doha, as part of the ASHRAE Distinguished Lecture Series. The seminar will be presented by Jim Coogan, the announcement informed.

Theory and Concepts 1: Infiltration and containment (40 min):

  • Mechanical process of infiltration
  • Velocity, area, pressure

  • Importance of the envelope
  • Select pressurisation level
  • Specifying the room envelope

Pressurisation via HVAC (40 min):

  • Required pressure relationships
  • Control methods explained and compared
  1. Differential flow control
  2. Pressure feedback

  • Selecting a pressurisation control method

Designing pressurisation and control (40 min):
