Focus on sustainability and efficiency in chiller systems
ASHRAE Qatar Oryx Chapter has announced that it will hold a full-day seminar on “sustainability and efficiency in chiller systems” on September 6 at the Millennium Hotel, Doha.
The technical seminar is being held in association with Trane, Qatar, the announcement added.
The talk presented by Mike Patterson, CEM, LEEP AP BD+C, will be the central focus of the seminar, and will reportedly explore the sustainability of a chiller system with a specific focus on refrigerant. In particular, it will look at what has driven and continues to drive refrigerant transitions, recent actions taken by countries from around the world to curb fluids that have significant GWP (Global Warming Potential. It will also act a platform discuss what the HVAC industry and ASHRAE are doing to prepare for the next generation of refrigerants, the organisers informed.
Examining various chiller design attributes and how they affect overall chiller efficiency are also on the cards, ASHRAE Qatar Oryx elaborated. Understanding these design choices will aid in the selection process helping to ensure that the right chiller is selected, the Association underscored. “We will also look at efficiency standards, what they mean, and various tools available to help make the most efficient choice for the application,” the organisers said.
